Instagram launches new Tiktok like feature ‘Remix’

Instagram is launching a new feature called Remix to allow users to collaborate more on Reels. Remix functions similarly to TikTok’s Duets feature where it allows users to record alongside an existing Reel. Users of Instagram Reels may use the Remix feature to add their own Reel to an existing one. When capturing your reaction, reacting to friends, or recreating a trending video, this feature can come in handy. The latest Remix feature in Instagram Reels is now available to all users worldwide.

Instagram confirmed the latest Remix feature on Twitter. It will allow you to make your own Reel by recording alongside an existing one, as previously mentioned. Go to the Instagram Reel you want to shoot alongside to use the new Remix feature. Choose Remix This Reel from the three dots that appear in the top right corner of the Reel. The captured Reel will appear in the right corner of Instagram, while your own recording will appear on the left side. To begin recording your Remix, click the Record button. Using the tools on the left panel, you can edit your video by adding effects, filters, increasing the speed, and adding music.

For newly uploaded Instagram Reels, the functionality will be activated by default. To Remix old Reels, go to the three dots on the right side of your Reel and select Enable Remixing. These remixed Reels will appear in your profile’s Reels Tab alongside all of your other Instagram Reels. Additionally, through the Instagram Activity tab, developers will be able to see who remixed their Reel.1
