Battlefield 6 will not be released on PS4 and Xbox One as originally planned. According to leaker Tom Henderson, Battlefield 6 will likely concentrate on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. According to the leak, the absence of a last-gen version of Battlefield 6 may be the primary explanation for the game’s immediate availability on Xbox Game Pass to increase player numbers.

Shpeshal Ed, the co-founder of XboxEra and podcast host, broke the news that Battlefield 6 could be coming to Xbox Game Pass on the first day of its publication. “A third-party, Triple-A first-person shooter is very likely to debut in Game Pass this fall,” says the source.

Shpeshal Ed’s comment corresponds to Battlefield 6’s rumored Fall 2021 release date. Given that Call of Duty and Battlefield are two big franchises with Fall launches, and EA’s alliance with Microsoft for EA Play on Xbox Game Pass, it’s possible that Shpeshal Ed is referring to Battlefield 6 coming to Xbox Game Pass.
