Indian Game ‘Raji: An Ancient Epic’ Nominated For Best Debut Game 2020

For the first time an Indian game developed , by Pune-based Nodding Heads Games ‘Raji: An Ancient Epic’ has been nominated for the game award and has been shortlisted for best debut game 2020. Raji revolves around the story of a young girl who is chosen by the gods to stand against various demonic forces. The game relies heavily on Hindu and Balinese mythology, while the setting is closely based on the state of Rajasthan. The gameplay and the visuals are simply breathtaking, with the game featuring it’s very own sound track as well. The visuals represent a Pahari style of painting, and it draws inspiration from the Ramayana as well as Mahabharata.

Raji, was initially released in August this year, could soon become the first made-in-India game to win the international recognition. The award show is said to stream on various platforms, including YouTube, on Dec 10, 7 PM ET or Dec 11, 5:30 AM IST. The Game Awards was founded in 2014 by veteran journalist Geoff Keighley. Since then, it has grown rapidly and regularly hosted iconic gaming personalities such as Hideo Kojima.

Raji: The Ancient Epic , on the other hand is an action-adventure game with an enriched story, game art, and music reflective of the Indian culture. After around being in development for two years, the game came out on Nintendo Switch this year on August 18. Soon after that, it was released on  PC, PS4, and Xbox One on 15 October
