Skype allows you to hold group chats at once with as many as 600 people, and you can set up one on your mobile device or computer in just a few steps.
Regardless of what system you’re using, the mechanism behind creating a Skype group chat is identical.
How to activate a group chat on a mobile Skype app
Step 1: Click the ‘New Chat ‘ button. It’s on the upper-right side of your iPhone and the lower-right side of your Android.
Step 2: Tap “New Group Chat” on the New Chat tab.
Step 3: You now need to enter a name for your community on newer versions of Android (Android 6.0+) and on any iPhone and then click the arrow to continue.
Step 4: Press the image icon at the top of the page and add an image if you want to create a custom image for the chat. By pressing “Edit.” you can also choose a color for your group chat.
Step 5: In order to add participants to your conversation, click the right arrow. The search box at the top of the page can be used, or you can browse and pick contacts from the list.
Step 6: Click ‘Done‘ when you have picked all the participants.
The chat group is done now – just start talking. You can also use the “Invite More People” button to add more people at any time if you’ve added less than 600 participants.
When Skype is closed, the group chat stays active. To open it again, pick it from Skype’s Chats screen at any time.
