ASUS ROG Phone 5 specifications
The Asus ROG Phone 5 comes with the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC. With a clock speed of 2.84GHz, the processor should be able to produce some impressive benchmark results. The ROG Phone 5 has a 6.78-inch display with a 20.4:9 aspect ratio, making it a huge smartphone. It’s a Samsung AMOLED panel with HDR 10+ certification and a full-HD+ resolution. It has a refresh rate of 144Hz, but it is set to 120Hz by default. Asus claims a peak brightness of 1200nits. Corning Gorilla Glass Victus is used on the front, and Gorilla Glass 3 has been used on the back. The sides of the display have thin bezels, but the top and bottom have slightly thicker ones that hold stereo speakers. The 24-megapixel selfie camera and a notification LED are both located on the top bezel. The ASUS ROG Phone 5 is also carrying forward its predecessor’s dual-USB Type-C port approach.
The ROG Phone 5 has a triple camera system on the rear, including a 64-megapixel main camera with pixel binning up to 16-megapixel shots, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with a 125-degree field of view, and a 5-megapixel macro camera. They’re all housed in a small, strangely shaped camera module that sticks out slightly. The back of the ROG Phone 5 features an Asus ROG logo with RGB lighting that can be customized. Small secondary PMOLED displays in that location on the ROG Phone 5 Pro and ROG Phone 5 Ultimate will show status information.
The Asus ROG Phone 5 has a 6,000mAh battery that is split into two 3000mAh cells to support quick charging and keep the phone from overheating while in use. The two cells are located at the top and bottom of the smartphone, respectively, while the mainboard, which houses the SoC, is located in the centre. Another advantage of this configuration is that when the Aeroactive Cooler 5 accessory is attached, it sits directly on top of the SoC for efficient cooling. While Asus claims that the ROG Phone 5 is capable of 65W fast charging, the device only comes with a 30W charger. You would need to purchase a compatible charger separately if you choose to use faster charging.
