LG K42 Launched in India: Price, Specifications, and Availability

Past news speculated that South Korean tech giant LG may exit the smartphone market, however amid all that, the company unveiled the LG K42 smartphone in India on January 22. According to the company, LG passed over nine military tests for categories including, high temperature, low temperature, temperature shock, vibration, shock, humidity, and so on. The smartphone is MIL-STD 810G certified, which means that LG K42 can stand out from the other smartphones in extreme conditions.

Also, the buyers will be benefiting from the two-year extended warranty inclusive of one-time screen replacement that would be totally free of any cost. Considering one of the USP of the smartphone is that it will come with a walkie-talkie functionality that can be accessed with the press of a button. This would come in handy in situations when it won’t be viable for you to reach the phone, unlock and make that important call or text. LG K42 claims that its unique wave patterns would provide a better give, whereas the UV coating will definitely make it scratch resistant.

Price and Availability

The smartphone will be priced at Rs 10,990. It will be available only on Flipkart, starting 26 January. There are two color variants available for LG K42, green and grey. However, it will be available in only one configuration that is, 3GB of RAM and 64GB storage.

Specifications

As per the expectations of a rugged smartphone, we may have to see underpowered hardware in the LG K42 smartphone. The most underwhelming specs of the phone are the MediaTek Helio P22 (MT6762) chipset. There is a 6.6-inch HD+ display with a Punch hole-style notch that shells an 8MP selfie camera.

LG K42 comes with a four rear camera module. The module comes with a 13MP primary sensor, 5MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro lens.

Talking about the battery, It’s a 4,000mAh battery that comes with a USB Type-C port charging. 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0 are the wireless connectivity options that we’d be encountering. The LG K42 budget smartphone is 8.4mm thick and weighs 184 grams, which is pretty heavy compared to other options. It comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and a dedicated Google Assistant button.
