If you’re searching for phones under Rs 20,000 today, you’ll be spoiled for choice. The Moto G60 and Moto G40 Fusion are likely to be two of the most prominent. While the former has a stunning panel and exceptional cameras, the latter introduces a flagship-level chip to the price range. But which one is the most effective for you? 

Design and appearance

The two handsets have 6.8-inch hole-punch displays with a 120Hz refresh rate in the middle. On the rear, the Moto G60 has a 108-megapixel primary camera, while the Moto G40 Fusion has a 64-megapixel primary camera.

Winner: Moto G60


This again would seem a no-brainer on paper. Both phones have 6.67-inch full HD+ displays with 120Hz refresh rates, the Moto G60 and Moto G40 Fusion has an LCD. However, there is some fine print – the Moto G60 has 1080 x 2400 pixels, 20:9 ratio (~388 PPI density) on the other hand, the Moto G40 Fusion has 1080 x 2460 pixels (~395 PPI density).

This actually is a no-brainer. The Moto G60 and Moto G40 Fusion come with the same Qualcomm SM7150 Snapdragon 732G (8 nm) Chipset, and Octa-core (2×2.3 GHz Kryo 470 Gold & 6×1.8 GHz Kryo 470 Silver). For the Graphical Interface, they are equipped with Adreno 618 GPU.

RAM and storage

The Moto G60 has 6GB / 128GB RAM and storage variant. The Moto G40 Fusion adds a 6GB / 64GB variant to the mix as well. While both phones use LPDDR4X RAM. Both phones come with microSDXC. Speaking in terms of performance, I would say the edge is with the Moto G60 has higher RAM variant.

Moto G60 comes with a triple rear camera system that includes a 108-megapixel main sensor with f/1.7 aperture, along with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture and 118-degree field of view, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. There will also be an LED light. The front of the Moto G60 has a 32-megapixel selfie camera with an f/2.2 aperture.

The 6GB + 128GB processing variant of the latest Moto G60 costs Rs. 17,999 in India. It’s available in two colors: Dynamic Gray and Frosted Champagne. On ICICI Bank cards, there is an immediate discount of Rs. 1,500 as part of the launch deals. On April 27, at 12 p.m. (noon), the phone will be available on Flipkart.

The Moto G40 Fusion costs Rs. 13,999 for a 4GB + 64GB storage model and Rs. 15,999 for a 6GB + 128GB storage model. It’ll be available in Dynamic Gray and Frosted Champagne colors, and will go on sale on Flipkart on May 1 at 12 p.m. (noon). On ICICI Bank cards, there is an immediate discount of Rs. 1,000 as part of the launch deals.
