New OPPO device OPPO PEHT00 spotted on Geekbench

An OPPO device with the codename OPPO PEHT00 has been spotted on Geekbench. The smartphone will be a 5G device, and it is expected to be launched at an affordable price. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 5G SoC paired with 8GB RAM.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 processor launch surprised everyone, as it was the first-ever Snapdragon 400-series chipset with 5G connectivity. It was already hinted that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 processor would make its debut with OPPO, HMD Global, or VIVO. The OPPO device could be the first device to run Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 chipset. The OPPO PEHT00 manages to achieve a single-core score of 522 and a multi-core score of 1,513. As the previous OPPO Geekbench listings have shown us, any device with the codename ‘PE’ is almost always a Chinese product. It is also speculated that this variant will come with 8GB RAM and will operate Android 11 out of the box.

The OPPO smartphone is listed with the ‘holi’ motherboard which also happens to be the codename for the Snapdragon 480 SoC. This isn’t the first time we have come across an OPPO smartphone bearing this codename. Tipster Mukul Sharma, popular by the name Mr.stufflistings found a device with the exact codename in 3C database. The listing only told us that it is 5G-enabled and supports fast charging at 18W. Information suggests that OPPO is working on another variant also, known as the OPPO PEHM00.

Given very limited information, it is hard to assume what OPPO has to offer with this new device. But one fact we know for sure is this will be the entry-level smartphone for Qualcomm Snapdragon 4xx chips. It is also speculated that this phone will be a part of OPPO’s A-series smartphones.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 is expected to make its debut in the first quarter of 2021 and we know for a fact that this OPPO device will feature this chipset. So we will know more about this mystery device in the coming days.
