As the company’s fans and community were not really impressed with that. According to the reports, OnePlus 8T was launched without Facebook preinstalled. However, no official explanation has been given for the app’s removal.

In a recent interview with Input Mag, the company’s CEO Pete Lau said that the removal of the preinstalled Facebook app was the outcome of reactions from OnePlus’s fans that led to an internal debate in the company.

On entering partnership with Facebook Lau made clear that :

“With the initial discussion and partnership with Facebook, we learned that there were possibilities of collaboration, meaning optimizations for experience of the apps on devices, and that’s where our focus and looking at partnership.”

He also said that OnePlus didn’t really anticipate a negative reaction as still many users use Facebook on regular basis.
