As there have been rumors in the past that the POCO F1 successor is in the works, the POCO F2 launch is likely to occur in 2021. The company had previously announced that the POCO F2 Pro would not be released in India and they were building a better successor to the POCO F1. The POCO F2 specifications are still under wraps, but a report earlier this month indicated that the mid-range Snapdragon 732G chipset will come with the smartphone. In an interview, tipster Mukul Sharma told Anuj Sharma, Country Director, POCO India, that the upcoming POCO F-series phone would not come with the rumored Snapdragon 732G.

POCO F2 might not feature Snapdragon 732G Chipset

Anuj Sharma explains that the 732G Snapdragon is a mid-range chipset that has already been used in the X3 POCO. As the F series is a step above the X series, Sharma suggests that a more powerful, maybe flagship-level, the chipset will come with the POCO F2. Given that the 2018 flagship Snapdragon 845 chipset was used by the POCO F1, this would make sense. While the actual chipset being used was not specified by the POCO India head, we can guess that it could be the Snapdragon 865 or the newer Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Chipset.

A 120Hz AMOLED screen, a 4250mAh battery, and a quad-camera setup are other POCO F2 specifications tipped up to date. However, given that POCO India’s Anuj Sharma has already denied the Snapdragon 732G chipset rumors. The launch date of POCO F2 is yet to be announced, but the phone appears to be on track for launch in India later this year.

In addition to the POCO F2, earlier this month, Anuj Sharma also announced that the company is still working on the completely wireless POCO Pop Budz earphones. It was first planned that the TWS earbuds would be launched in early 2020, but the company was not happy with the first two models. A third edition of the audio product is now being tested and we might see it released later this year. It also appears that the company is working on a POCO M3 Pro model, but there is no word as to when this smartphone will be launched in India.
