Realme X50 Pro 5G (2021) review: What you need to know

Realme is one of the prime mobile company in India. Realme grabbed the third position in India within 8 months of its launch. Most people believe that Realme is an Indian brand. But it is exactly a Chinese brand. The gap between Luxury Smartphones and Budget mobile phones has been closing in recent times, but Realme’s budget Smartphones remain at the pinnacle of the mobile Industry.

The Realme X50 Pro 5G is Realme’s most expensive model yet in India, but it’s also the first 5G capable flagship phone and features Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 Processor, and available in two colors.

Realme X50 Pro 5G (2021) review: Design

As I said above, there’s everything new about the look and the feel of the new Realme X50 Pro. Realme X50 Pro 5G remains a gloriously desirable machine. Its solid machined Multiple Coating Technology customized by the South Korean company, endured six processes of coating to get a subtle and high-end texture of the design. This is still the benchmark for Smartphones when it comes to pure aesthetics and builds quality. Also, features industry-leading AG Glass technology which reduces the emission of light to less than 1%. Meanwhile, the matte surface provides a delicate and warm hand feel, soft and comfortable.

The all-new Realme X50 Pro 5G made its grand entrance in the Indian market with key features like 5G. Still, India has to develop 5G towers, because they don’t have a high range and connectivity everywhere. Of course, the big news is, Realme X50 Pro is enabled by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor along with a Snapdragon X55 modem. If used to its utmost potential, it will feature a download speed of 7.5Gbps and upload speed at 3Gbps, which is just mindblowing. The current implementation rolling out in the market will avail support for mmWave and sub-6.

The flagship processor Snapdragon 865 is built around four Qualcomm Kryo 585 Silver efficiency cores running at 1.8GHz, three performance Kryo 585 Gold cores at 2.42GHz, and one additional Kryo 585 Gold core running at up to 2.82GHz. For the graphical unit, it has a top-notch Adreno 650 integrated GPU. Also, loaded with other features like AI processing, gaming, ambient sensors, audio, improvised subsystems for the camera, and more.

The Realme X50 Pro 5G has a 6.44 inch Super AMOLED HDR10+ panel. You can set the refresh rate up to 90Hz, also you can customize according to your need and 1080×2040 pixel resolution. the device is charged with a 65W ‘SuperDart’ charger. The battery capacity of the device is 4200mAh which can be charged from 0 to 100% in just 35 minutes. Realme claims that 3 min charge will allow you to watch a 100-min movie. It uses a Dual cell design for speed and safety which supports 18W QC/PD charging and 30W Flash Charge, making it the most versatile device.

As per the latest test from realme lab, compared with the 60Hz display, 90Hz has approx 50% higher refresh rate to improvise the gaming speed and touch response. The Realme X50 Pro 5G has a 92% screen to body ratio. Made from E3 luminescent Materials and certified HDR 10+. The brightness level can go up to 1000+nit and DCI-P3 color space. It takes only 0.27 seconds for the fingerprint sensor to recognize. The Realme X50 Pro 5G is universally genuine in every aspect.

the Realme X50 Pro has three variants Starting from Rs. 37,999 has 6GB of RAM with 128GB of storage; the Second variant has 8GB of RAM with the same 128GB of storage for Rs. 39,999, and the third one has 12GB of RAM with 256GB of storage, but it will set you back by Rs. 44,999.

The device has LPDDR5 Ram and UFS 3.0 storage for faster responsiveness. But, it does have a Hybrid microSD card slot. For gaming, it has a vapor cooling system and dual-frequency GPS as well as NFC, NavIC support, Bluetooth 5.1, and Wi-Fi 6. The only thing you won’t find in the phone is wireless charging. Realme has held back on some features to hit an attractive price point.

For software, Realme X50 Pro 5G has Android 10 with Realme UI 1.1 on top, the UI is simple and sticks to the general layout of stock android. The setting category has a lot of additional categories and some exceptional features you might not find on other devices. You can also personalize UI as per your preference including icon style, control over the icon grid, and a feature to dispense with an app drawer. So all the icons are placed on your phone’s home screen.

For gaming, the UI provides features like Game Space, which allows you to prioritize lighting effects around the screen edges, the game’s internet traffic, ambient display mode, app cloning, and many more.


Realme X50 Pro 5G (2021) review: Performance and Battery

Everyone had high expectations, Snapdragon 865 processor has set a new standard for performance in the mobile industry. You won’t have any trouble at all with responsiveness and speed while using the device. The all-new Realme X50 Pro has managed to deliver with impressive battery life. 4200mAh does seem like much these days, but the device managed to make it last longer for almost a day. You won’t have to charge your device midway through the day after using it throughout the day. The realme lab ran a video in the loop and played for 19 hours, and 4 minutes.

The battery is powered by a Super-quick charger which another mobile in the market at this price range doesn’t have. The charge might feel bulky and heavy. The device went from 0 to 25% in roughly 7 minutes, 50 percent in just over 13 minutes, and 75% in 22 minutes, after that charging rate began to decrease gradually. It took exactly 41 minutes, 16 seconds which is longer than the company claims, but still, it’s remarkable.


Realme X50 Pro 5G (2021) review: Camera

The Realme X50 Pro 5G has Ultra Six Cameras which are extremely steady. On the front, we have an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens which can cover up to 105-degree ultra-wide-angle, and a 32MP Sony IMX616 Sensor for lense for wide-angle photography.

Other than that, realme X50 Pro has a 12MP Telephoto Lens which can zoom up to 20x, 64MP Main Camera which has 1/1.72 inch Sensor Size, 8MP Ultra Wide-angle & Macro Lens which cover up to 119 degrees and 4cm shooting distance, and at last B&W Portrait Lens with an F1.8 Large Aperture. The realme lab has developed an SAT smooth-zoom technology that can simulate the zoom feeling of cameras. You can switch multiple camera lenses, and the picture is stable, keeping the same color temperature and exposure, to obtain the “seamless zoom”. For the first time in history, realme has added the Ultra NightScape feature to its camera which can help the user to capture night scenes in the darkness. It can take clear, bright, and high-quality night pictures even in 1 Lux low light environment. The new UIS Max adopts wide-angle picture clipping technology to obtain more field of vision and anti-shake effect. The photo won’t be blurred even if you run and jump. It provides you with a Wider view when you click the photo and record simultaneously.

The Realme X50 Pro 5G has so many premium features which if you want to buy you have to go for the higher version. 5G isn’t fully implemented in India yet, but you will be able to use the high-speed internet in the upcoming future. Airtel will be the first company that claims to bring 5G in India. You can use it right now whenever you go abroad where 5G is not a practical application anymore.

This smartphone competes at the same level as the OnePlus 7T, and it is so much more capable and modern than the OnePlus Flagship device. Still, we don’t know how realme would capitalize when the OnePlus company releases OnePlus 8 series. But right now, the lead is clear. It offers the best attributes like Super-Fast charging, versatile camera, SnapDragon 856 chipset, and many more features. It’s the best mobile in your budget if you want a mobile with a top-notch processor, Quad camera, long battery life.
