Disney plus is going to increase its US subscription plan by 1$.
As the company plans to bring more quality content to its services it was necessary to increase its subscription fees. The company has already announced the release of 20 new Marvel movies and Star Wars series in the coming years. Not only this, but they are also going to launch 15 original Pixar Disney series in almost the same amount of time.
This price hike will be applied from March 2021, raising it to 7.99$ per month. And the Disney bundle which already includes – Disney plus, Hulu, and ESPN Plus will be available for 13.99$ per month. Originally they started the service for 6.99$. It is the first price bump offered by the company after it launched a year ago.
Disney is also planning to launch a new streaming service branded as ” Star”. It will be included as a part of Disney +. However, it will be launched as a separate service called “Star Plus” in Latin America. Hours of content from Disney studio, FX, 20yh Century, and 20th Television is also promised. They are expanding their network to Eastern Europe, Hong Kong, Japan, and South Korea later next year.
It is not clear yet, that the price hike is also applicable for other countries or not. As of now, this seems to be applicable only in the US. Later this price hike can also be seen in India in the coming years. As we have Disney+ as a part of Hotstar.
