Since the last two years, Realme has been rapidly expanding its smart range, bringing in more items such as smart TVs, TWS earbuds, a smart socket, and a security cam. It seems that with a new Realme laptop, the Chinese tech company now wants to join the PC market, but at the moment its information remains scarce. “Realme will launch its first laptop around June 2021, according to the tipster Mukul Sharma, “if things go as expected.” The tipster’s latest details come days after Realme India and Europe CEO Madhav Sheth loosely teased the laptop’s growth.
The Realme executive, without denying reports on Realme laptops, said during his recent interview with BGR India that the brand has received “many queries regarding this” and we must “stay tuned” for updates related to it. He added that Realme will expand its smart portfolio with more home appliances in India this year with a Realme scale, electric juicer, and even air conditioner. Notably, in another interview last month, Sheth noted that as part of its 1+4+N plan – meaning 1 Core product (smartphone), 4 Smart Hubs, and N AIoT products – the company will introduce new products.
The company will compete against existing players such as HP and Lenovo, as well as new entrants such as Xiaomi and Avita in India if the launch information about the Realme laptop is correct. Notably, like Realme, Xiaomi provides a range of budget smartphones and other smart home devices in India, as well as TWS earbuds. In India, its Mi laptops, which debuted last year, are available with up to 10th-gen Intel Core i7 processors.
It is speculated that the Realme laptop could run Windows 10 OS with an Intel/AMD CPU under the hood, given that neither Realme nor any of its sister companies such as Oppo or OnePlus still produce laptops. In other Realme-related news, next month, the company is expected to announce new 5G-enabled smartphones, the Realme X7 and X7 Pro.
